Harsco Track Technologies, a division of Harsco Corporation, is headquartered in Columbia, SC. Together we have enjoyed a long working relationship. Harsco plays a critical role in Union Pacific's yearly program maintenance work - providing maintenance of way work equipment, repair parts and services such as rail grinding and track renewal machines.
Most recently UP has contracted with Harsco to build a production rail grinder, a switch grinder and a track renewal machine, which through joint development efforts are increasingly sophisticated and employ many technological advances to meet the changing demands of the industry. This new equipment, along with fixed long term pricing, will reduce our installed cost per tie and decrease our total cost of grinding while helping to improve rail profile, reduce rail defects and extend rail life.
Harsco has repeatedly demonstrated their commitment to improving technology and design, implementing services that will manage costs, and meet their customer demands to achieve desired results and develop partnerships.
